在活动中绽放生命之花——Book Seven Module Eight教学案例

  一、我的教学理念

  英语课堂是生活的课堂。陶行知先生说:“生活即教育。是叫教育从书本的到人生的,从狭隘的到广阔的,从字面的手脑相长的,从耳目的到身心全顾的。”生活教育是给生活以教育,为生活向前向上的需要而教育。生活决定教育,教育不能脱离生活,教育应当“回归生活。”英语课堂呼唤生活的回归,让英语走进生活,让学生在生活中学习英语,为生活而用英语。《英语课程标准》中又明确规定:要重视从学生的日常生活出发,培养学生实际运用语言的能力。

  英语课堂是活动的课堂。因此,在快乐十分开奖直播的生本英语课堂上,几乎每节课都能看到学生结合生活实际进行的英文演讲和改编剧本表演。“形成活动没有?”,已经成为一节生本英语课是否成功的的重要标志。

  英语课堂是生命的课堂。现在,生本的教学理念如春夜之雨,润泽着我们的教育教学活动,使教育呈现一种绿意盎然的生命之美。生本课堂上教师的作用主要是调动学生的内在积极性、组织学生自主学习。教师由以往的先教后学、多教少学转变成学生的先学后教、多学少教。教师由拉动学生的“纤夫”转变为生命的“牧者”。这就需要我们教师尽量发掘学生们的潜能,尽力为学生搭建生命的舞台,让每一个孩子的生命如荷之新绽,蓬勃出生命的激情。

  二、我的课堂实录

  下面我来谈谈Book Seven Module Eight Festivals Unit 17  It’s the spring festival soon. 新授课活动的开展。本模块的重点是了解西方传统节日圣诞节和中国传统节日春节的习俗和活动,课文中这方面的信息不多,所以为了让学生更好的了解这两个节日并拓展到其它的的中西方节日,设计好课前小研究是重中之重。为了让学生更好的在课堂展开活动,为此,特地设计了如下的课前小研究:一、写出你知道的节日和有关节日的祝福语歌曲。二、用英文介绍你最喜欢的节日。三、根据本模块话题小组运用重点句式编写小剧本并表演。学生只有在课前有备而来,在课堂上才能满载而归。

Unit 17 It’s the spring festival soon.

  Sing a song: We wish you a merry Christmas.

  Teacher: Good morning, children. Today we are going to learn Unit 17 It’s the spring festival soon. Do you know other festivals? Try to share the festival you know in groups.

  (老师与学生进行Free Talk,并引入话题“Festival”。让学生说出他们知道的中西方传统节日,如Spring Festival, Middle-autumn festival, Christmas, Easter等,由此进行有关节日单词的整理、复习和巩固。)

  Teacher : Please take out your paper sheet, share the best wishes or English songs about the festivals that you collected.

  Pupil: 1. May you have the best new year ever. (愿你度过最美好的新年。) 2. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. (圣诞快乐和新年快乐。) 3. Wish you all the happiness of the holiday season.(祝节日幸福如意。)

  Teacher: Well done, thank you. Any more?

  Pupil: Happy New Year to you.

  Pupil: Best wishes on this holiday season. (献上最诚挚的节日祝福。)

  Teacher:Good job! OK. Children, please share the songs about the festivals.

  Pupil: 1. We wish you a Christmas. 2. Jingle bells. 3. White Christmas.

  Pupil: 1.When a child is born. 2. Silent night.

  Pupil: Happy New Year.

  (分享学生课前收集到的各种祝福语和歌曲,非常实用,让学生在日常生活中可以更好的运用。通过分享,让学生借助春节这个话题,了解更多不同的节日相关知识,也是一个知识的积累。)

  Teacher: Thank you so much. You’ve done a good job! Now please open your books, turn to page 103, can you read the new words?

  Pupils: Yes.

  Teacher: Please read together.

  Pupils read together.

  Teacher: Do you have any difficulties in learning these new words?

  Pupil 1: I can’t read this word:龙

  Pupil 2:Dragon(示范读)

  Teacher:Now please take out your word cards, play the cards in groups.

  Teacher: OK,stop playing word cards. Please turn to page 77, read the dialogue by yourself. Then try to ask some questions.

  Pupil 1:What do people usually do during the Spring Festival?

  Pupil 2: People usually buy some food and flowers.

  Pupil 3: What’s the most important and popular festival in China?

  Pupil 4: The Spring Festival.

  Pupil 5: Do Chinese people clean and decorate their houses before the Spring Festival?

  Pupil 6: Yes, they do.

  Teacher: Very good! We have known some customs about the Spring Festival. Now please introduce other festivals you like, share in groups first…(小组分享) OK, stop sharing, who wants to share with your classmates? Let’s welcome Wang Enpei.

  Pupil 1: I want to talk about the Halloween. The Halloween is the western fesvital. The children often dress up as ghosts on Halloween. Children go from house to house saying “Trick or treat”, they are usually rewarded with candies. If people don’t give the children candies, children will play tricks on them.

  Pupil 2: Hello, everybody. Today I will share something about Christmas. Christmas is on December 25th. It is Jesus Christ’s birthday. It is the most important and popular festival in western countries. People are very busy on Christmas Eve. They clean and decorate their houses. Many people always buy some colored lights and presents on the Christmas tree. Christmas tree is an important part of Christmas. There is a big red star at the top of the Christmas tree. Children put their stocking beside the bed. They hope to get some presents from Father Christmas. Of course, Father Christmas isn’t real. The parents are the real “Father Christmas”. They put the presents under the Christmas trees or into their children’s stockings after the children go to sleep. On Christmas day, adults buy a lot of presents for children and all of them need to do nothing. So they are happy on that day. (PPT展示)

  (学生对自己喜欢的节日在小组内进行介绍,然后由小组推荐一位同学上来跟同学们分享,除了更深入的了解课文中出现的Spring Festival和Christmas这两个节日外,孩子们还带来了Dragon Boat Festival, Halloween,Easter, Middle-autumn Festival等节日的介绍和相关信息。孩子们通过课前上网、翻阅书籍等方式了解了各种中西方的重要节日相关信息。借助英文演讲来提高学生学习英语的积极性,养成敢于开口,积极思考的学习习惯。在别的同学展示时能养成聆听同学之间的描述的习惯,并感受各种节日所带来的欢乐,与同学们分享、交流。)

  Liu Qian: Hello, I’m Liu Qian. Happy New Year!  I have a new magic. Do you want to see?

  Amy: Good luck in the year ahead, aunt.

  Mrs Smith: Good kids. May joy and health be with you always. Here’s the lucky money for you!

  Amy and Anne: Thank you.

  (At night)

  Amy:Wow,what a big meal! Chicken, fish, pork, steak, soup, vegetable, dumplings…

  Mrs Smith: Help yourself to some food.

  Mr Web: Thank you. The food is very tasty, yummy yummy!(孩子们打饱嗝)

  Group three: Trick or Treat

  Playwright: Wu Zhoutong

  Director: Ding Lang

  Character: Wu Zhoutong(Jackson), Ding Lang( Isabella), Wang Enpei(Irene),  Zhong Zilin(Judy),  Zhuang Shaoji( a Chinese, his English name is Rennes .He moved to America two month ago)

  Children: Halloween is coming! Tonight, we will ask for candies from door to door!

  (敲门)

  Jackson: Hi, children!

  Children: Trick or treat……

  Jackson: OK! Here you are!

  Children: Thank you. Bye!

  Jackson: Bye!

  (敲门)

  Rennes: Hi, mum. I’m so hungry. Could you cook a delicious meal for me……

  Children: Trick or treat……

  Rennes: What? One ghost……two ghosts……three ghosts!(晕倒)

  Irene: He  fainted just now.

  Isabella: so……

  Judy: Ha-ha!

  (捣乱)

  Rennes: Wait, what are you doing?(awake)

  Children: Trick or treat……

  Rennes: What? Oh, I see!乞丐嘛(in Chinsese, and give the children  dollars).

  Children: What? No, no.

  Rennes: It’s this?(out with some candies)

  Children: Yes!

  Rennes: Ok, you know……

  Children:(snatch the candies)Bye-bye!

  Rennes: Hey! 5 cents! 5 cents! I mean ……

  Children: Bye-bye!

  Rennes: Oh no, my 5 cents……(fall over).

  (根据本模块话题小组运用重点句式编写小剧本并表演。英语表演既是一门艺术,也是一种带有很大交际性的言语实践活动,它符合学生活泼、好奇、善于模仿和喜欢交际的心理特征,同时适应英语教学的需要,让学生通过身临其境的表演去领会各式各样的语言情景,去理解不同的表达方式。表演时,为增加剧情气氛,可做些简单的道具,配上PPT背景和音乐等。改编表演是英语课的重要活动,也是每节课的高潮,更是老师和同学们最喜欢的环节,每到这个时候,同学们都会打起十二分精神来观看每个小组富有创意的小剧,因为每个小组都会展示自己的十八般武艺,充分展示小组和个人的魅力。在这一节课上,孩子们带来了各种各样有关他们对中西方节日的理解和展示,让老师和同学们都大开眼界,各种节日的欢快和滑稽表演让大家捧腹大笑。如一个小组带来了春晚,演上了刘谦、周杰伦、何炅等他们熟悉的明星;另外一个小组则带上各种面具到各家各户去要糖果,过上了Halloween;再有一个小组演上了吉祥三宝,在父母的带领下去给亲戚拜年、要压岁钱;有的小组划起了龙舟,吃上了粽子;有的则吃起了月饼、赏起月来……所有的表演都来源于生活,通过各种模拟真实情景的表演让孩子们能在实际生活中运用到英语。这也恰恰符合了新课程理念提倡的“让知识平易近人”,让我们的学生看得到它、摸得到它、听得到它并且能用得上它……)

  三、我的教学反思

  在我们的英语课堂中,学生结合生活实际进行了英文演讲和改编剧本表演,让英语走进生活,让学生在生活中学习英语,为生活而运用英语。课堂上处处落实生本理念,并且以新课标为指导,让孩子们在各种各样的英语活动中充分的、自信的展示自己、发展自己、欣赏他人,让生命之花在活动中绽放!

  改革是为了解放学生,更是解放自己,减轻了学生和老师的负担。教师的教学境界是:教是为了不教,让学生超越自己,老师由主演变成导演,由师长变成朋友。把学习的权利、自由、快乐和空间还给学生。因此,教师在设计教学的时候,一定要有一个意识:把直接教给学生的东西,尽可能精简,尽可能多地让学生多说、多做;这时候我们发现,学生所学到的东西远远超过了书本所给予的,所有的一切都源于教材却又高于教材,这就是生本英语的魅力所在。
